Starting salary:  £41,132 rising to £44,988 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants)

The role

The Crime Analyst role sits within the Central Enforcement Support Team at the heart of the intelligence function for Natural Resources Wales. This small team works with colleagues across all areas of NRW’s functions to deliver a range of intelligence led products. 

In addition to working with NRW colleagues the Central Enforcement Support Team works with local and national partners, the Crime Analyst is central to this work providing a range of analytical products in support of our work.  

The post holder will lead the development and delivery of strategic and tactical enforcement plans at both national and local levels. They will be responsible for leading NRW’s contribution to UK assessments of environmental crime, providing specialist analytical skills to support NRW investigations, and addressing serious and organised illegal activities. The post holder will also develop an intelligence-led enforcement culture within the team and the wider organisation.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

Whilst appointments are normally made within 4 to 6 weeks of the closing date, vetting checks will be required and the successful candidate will need to hold vetting level NPPV3 before they can commence the role. This requirement can extend this initial appointment period.
