Biodiversity/Ecological Trainers

Envirico are a fast-growing Irish ecological consultancy who undertake large-scale biodiversity training and ecological projects such as the Nore Vision (, off-shore Island nesting bird surveys, and invasive species eradication from an Irish peninsula. 

We are currently recruiting experienced and knowledgeable biodiversity trainers/ecologists to help us deliver a number of biodiversity training courses we are set to roll-out at various locations across Ireland. This is an opportunity to be part of a number of exciting, ground-breaking ecological training projects in 2021-2022. 

Salary is competitive and will be linked to experience.

We are looking for applicants with a selection of the following training skills and experience:

• History of Irish biodiversity
• Good botanical and habitat classification skills
• River/grassland/linear habitat management
• Current Irish Citizen Science schemes
• Well-being through nature
• Experience producing or helping communities/state agencies produce Biodiversity Action Plans
• Water Conservation 
• Water Quality, Freshwater & Riparian Habitats
• Pollinator corridors & the All Ireland Pollinator Plan
• Habitat restoration
• Wildflower management 

Courses will combine online & place-based learning, and you will be required to aid in producing e-learning content e.g. video, podcast, virtual reality, quizzes. 

There will be some evening and weekend work required as part of this role to accommodate participants. 

Position Requirements:

• Full driver’s licence
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a biodiversity or training/teaching related discipline. In the case of highly experienced biodiversity trainers, experience may be considered equivalent to a degree at our discretion. 
• Personable and able to engage and interest people
• Experience delivering and creating biodiversity related training is required. 
• A Train the Trainer/other training related qualification is an advantage
• Experience with ecological consultancy is an advantage
• Be willing to travel within Ireland and spend overnights away from home as required for course delivery
• Be willing to work evenings/weekends as required for training delivery
