Our Team

The Planning & Environment department within Natural Power is made up of a diverse range of both off and onshore consultants with considerable technical experience and expertise covering both ecology and planning.  In expanding our offshore team, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and ambitious Principal Environmental Consultant to lead on consenting in Ireland, into our team in Dublin.

The purpose of the role is to lead on consenting for offshore developments (offshore wind farms and inter-connectors) for both the offshore and onshore consents in Ireland.  This will involve coordination of onshore and offshore applications and EIA works.

Duties and Responsibilities include

- Oversee work for Environmental Impact Assessments for offshore development (including management of staff and subcontractors), including that of onshore infrastructure
- Ensure tasks are assigned to relevant personnel, projects are scheduled, QA checks are carried out and financial responsibilities are met
- Advise clients and team members on offshore licencing, permitting requirements and timescales
- Oversee stakeholder management of consent application including leading on the consultation process
- Liaise with statutory bodies on offshore applications
- Keep abreast of offshore planning and development policy, including involvement in industry committees (IWEA etc.)
- Lead on offshore business development (for planning and environment develop and manage a team for Irish consents and EIA work)
- Co-ordinate and review tenders

Qualifications and Experience


- Educated to BSc in Marine ecology 
- Knowledge/experience of the Irish onshore and offshore permitting system
- Demonstrable experience of offshore and onshore consenting for:

windfarms and associated infrastructure
environmental assessment (including EIA, NIS)
grid connection
route design and landowner negotiations
project planning/co-ordination skills

- Full drivers licence


- MSc in environmental science/subject
- PhD in marine/planning subject
- GIS experience
- Experience of working with developers
