Due to continued growth, our client is seeking to hire a qualified Electrical Project Engineer to join their team at their Carlow head office. This is a permanent opportunity within a well-established environmental solutions provider delivering services across water, wastewater, environmental, and industrial sectors across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day technical support to the Project Manager.
· Liaise with suppliers to secure quotations and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
· Prepare and submit detailed technical documentation and reports for client approval.
· Develop, maintain, and update project programmes in line with contract requirements.
· Monitor progress against project schedules and report on status.
· Coordinate site resources and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
· Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all site works.
· Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
· Conduct regular site inspections and act as liaison with subcontractors, site teams, and client engineers.
· Oversee and supervise site works, ensuring alignment with HSA safety regulations.
· Schedule crews and manage subcontractor performance on site.
· Conduct site surveys and prepare comprehensive work packages.
· Manage project financials, including cost tracking and reporting.
· Control all project documentation and maintain change orders and variation logs.
· Compile and submit comprehensive O&M (Operations and Maintenance) manuals upon project completion.
· Maintain updated construction drawings in coordination with vendors and contractors.
· Frequent travel to project sites is required across various locations, while being based in Carlow.
Candidate Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering, ideally in a Project Engineering capacity.
· Trade-qualified electricians with relevant project experience are encouraged to apply.
· Experience in the water and wastewater treatment sector is advantageous but not essential.
· Proficient in AutoCAD with the ability to update and coordinate construction drawings.
· Familiarity with plant design, installation, commissioning, and technical specification review.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proven ability to manage subcontractors and ensure project delivery.
· Solid technical knowledge combined with commercial awareness.
· Self-starter with a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and project delivery.
· Full Irish drivers license
