This role sits within a 2000-person, high performing, energy and sustainability strategy consultancy in London.

You will support a range of projects such as Sustainable Business Strategy development and implementation, Environmental and Social baselining; Net Zero planning and implementation support, Renewable Energy Transition strategy and implementation; Value Chain Transformation design and implementation.

The day to day

  • Advising clients on updating their existing business strategies to account for the emerging sustainability agenda
  • Redesigning operating models across industry value chains
  • Supporting clients to implement changes across their operations and value chains
  • Supporting clients through their Sustainability change journey and embedding Sustainability into the heart of organisational culture
  • Establishing environmental and social impact baselines
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce impact as much as possible (rather than incrementally)

Required experience

  • Sustainability strategy or advisory leadership experience in either an industry or consultancy role
  • Operating model design experience
  • A solid understanding of value chains in Consumer Products & Retail, Pharma, Telco & Media, Government, Resources (Energy), Utilities and Financial Services
  • An understanding of the social and environmental topics affecting business on the Sustainability agenda
  • Transformation and Change management experience
  • Design and deployment of Sustainability / ESG strategies and roadmaps
  • Environmental or social sciences degree and/or work experience
  • Stakeholder engagement / management experience
  • Knowledge of energy and resource efficiency and renewables (MACC curve development would be ideal)
  • Strong communication and client engagement skills
  • Experience of complex systemic change programmes
  • Manging large teams of consultants / experts
  • Winning, managing and delivering globally complex sustainability strategy engagements
