Environmental and Scientific Manager/ IFCO

North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority is one of 10 authorities surrounding the coastline of England, our statutory function is to manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries.

We are currently seeking to recruit to the position of Environmental and Scientific Manager/IFCO. This is both and exciting and rare opportunity to join our Environmental and Scientific Team in a senior leadership role. The work is extremely varied from ‘day to day’ and whilst the role carries responsibility for leading and managing NEIFCA’s Environmental & Scientific Team, a significant component also involves ‘hands on’ field work both onshore and offshore. Essential criteria include education to degree level in a marine related field, a minimum of three years experience within a marine environmental role and experience in leading and managing a small team of staff. Experience in the deployment of marine survey equipment, accessing external funding opportunities and working with governmental/non-governmental organisations would also be advantageous. 

Environmental and Scientific Manager/IFCO

£33,486 - £37,568 for average 37 hours per week

The role is based within our Bridlington offices in East Yorkshire and the successful candidate will lead the Environmental and Scientific team in discharging the Authority’s statutory responsibilities under the Conservation and Natural Habitats Regulations 2000, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006, the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The role also involves enforcing marine legislation and supporting operational activity throughout the Authority’s district both onshore and offshore.
