At South Staffs Water we deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.5 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. We recognise the need for fresh thinking and flexibility in how we approach the future and respond to new challenges. We are looking for a team member with proven analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

We have an exciting opening for an Energy Analyst to play an integral part in assisting the business in managing energy consumption, cost and associated carbon emissions across both South Staffs and Cambridge regions. Working within a small team you will be responsible for:

• Collating and monitoring billing information from our energy suppliers to ensure accuracy;
• Producing regular reports for Senior Management and other stakeholders;
• Regular data collection for energy consumption and carbon emissions;
• Assisting in the development of tools and models to analyse consumption, cost, and carbon;
• Maintaining relationships and liaison with data holders;
• Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, e.g. suppliers.

Ideally, you will have some experience of monitoring energy markets, energy usage, undertaking monthly energy bill analysis, and analysing trends in operating costs. As a good communicator you will liaise with operational staff and managers to ensure timely delivery of data and reporting.

As you’ll also be providing data and information for regulatory and reporting purposes, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to contribute to management information reports. In addition, there is an opportunity within the role to develop and improve the systems used to collect and analyse data.

You must have a demonstrable track record in managing large amounts of data, possession of an analytical background and strong IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets.

Experience and proficiency in the use and application of data modelling is desirable. Training will be provided for the specific systems and tools used by South Staffs Water.
